Kyle is part of a fourth-generation Montana ranching family. His love for open spaces and their amenity keeps him close to home and gives him a strong interest in water and environment. He is married, has two small children, a poorly trained Labrador retriever, and a handful of other animals. He enjoys time outdoors with family and friends fishing, hunting, and skiing.

2018 - current:  CDM Smith, Helena, MT: Senior Water Resources Engineer, responsible for hydrologic and hydraulic engineering analysis, and staff mentoring.

2015 - current:  KF2 Consulting, Helena, MT: Principal Engineer/Scientist providing expert water science and engineering opinions for civil and criminal litigation.  

2004 - 2018:  Montana Department of Environmental Quality, Helena, MT: Lead Scientist/Engineer, responsible for statewide water-quality investigations, watershed and receiving water quality-modeling, and expert witness testimony.

2011 - 2014:  Tufts University, Medford, MA: Research Engineer and Teaching Assistant, responsible for water-quality modeling, field and laboratory experimentation, and remote sensing.

1999 - 2004:  Clear Creek Hydrology, Inc., Bozeman, MT: successively, Engineering Technician, Hydrologist, and Project Manager, responsible for hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, stormwater management modeling, and groundwater remediation work. .
